The user wrote in French: "Page avec ombres" — "Page with shadows". They want a page depicting a boy and a puppy walking in a forest, shadows stretching and moving gently on the ground, sunlight filtering through leaves, dappled light, soft shadows shifting slowly, storybook illustration style. This is a beautiful, poetic brief. I need to create a single self-contained HTML file that's a storybook illustration brought to life — a living picture, essentially. The key elements: 1. A boy and a puppy walking in a forest (storybook illustration style — so hand-crafted, warm, illustrated feel, not photorealistic) 2. Their shadows stretch and move gently on the ground — this is the signature interaction 3. Sunlight filtering through leaves — dappled light 4. Soft shadows shifting slowly 5. Storybook aesthetic Let me think about how to make this truly memorable and craft-driven: **Concept**: A living storybook page. The scene is an illustrated forest with a boy and puppy mid-walk. The whole thing could be rendered as a wide illustrated vignette with a paper/textured storybook frame — maybe like an open book page or a framed plate from a children's book. **The signature moment**: The shadows. The user explicitly emphasized shadows ("Page avec ombres"). So the shadows should be the star: - Long shadows stretching from the boy and puppy across the forest floor - The shadows should subtly sway/breathe — animated with slow deformation - Dappled light patches (from leaves) drift slowly across the ground and over the characters - Maybe: mouse movement shifts the "sun" position slightly, causing the shadows to rotate/stretch/lean — this makes the page feel alive and responsive - The dappled light patches could drift like real leaf shadows **Technical approach**: SVG is perfect for storybook illustration. I can draw: - Layered trees (trunks, canopies) in warm palette - Forest floor with grass tufts, mushrooms, ferns - Boy walking (side view, mid-stride) with a stick or hand in pocket - Puppy trotting beside/behind him, maybe tail up - Long soft shadows beneath them, animated with subtle skew/scale sway - Dappled light: blurred irregular light blobs drifting across the ground layer, using SVG filters or CSS-animated blurred shapes with mix-blend-mode - Light rays (god rays) slanting through the canopy — soft translucent beams - Floating dust motes / drifting leaves for atmosphere **Interactivity**: - Mouse position = sun angle. Moving the mouse left/right shifts the light source, and the shadows rotate/stretch accordingly (transform-origin at feet, skewX/scaleX changes). This is the "alive" feedback — direct connection between input and shadow behavior. - Dappled light patches continuously drift (CSS animations, slow). - Maybe subtle parallax on the forest layers with mouse move. - The boy and puppy could have a gentle walk cycle? That's ambitious in SVG but doable: a subtle bobbing + leg swing using CSS transforms on grouped leg elements. A gentle walking-in-place with the background subtly scrolling could give the impression of walking through the forest. Actually — a lovely idea: the forest slowly scrolls (parallax layers drift), the boy and puppy stay center-ish, walking in place with a gentle bob and leg swing, so it feels like they're walking through the forest. That's the storybook "journey" feel. And the shadows travel with them. Hmm, but walking-in-place with scrolling forest can look mechanical if done poorly. Let me think about doing it well: - Background layers (far trees, mid trees, near foliage) scroll at different speeds, very slowly, looping seamlessly. - Boy: body group with subtle vertical bob (ease-in-out, ~1s cycle matching two steps). Legs: two leg groups rotating slightly from hip, counter-phase. Arms similarly. Keep amplitudes small — it's a stroll. - Puppy: similar, smaller, faster cadence (puppies trot quicker), tail wag, ears bounce. - Shadows beneath: attached to feet, stretch/shift with the gait subtly, plus the mouse-driven sun angle. Actually, to keep the craft quality high, maybe a simpler, more painterly approach: the characters gently bob and sway, legs in soft stride, forest scrolls slowly. Small amplitudes, everything eased — storybook charm over realism. **Sun/shadow interaction**: - Mouse X maps to sun azimuth (left ↔ right). Shadows skew and rotate: shadow group transform: rotate(angle) + scaleX(length) with origin at character's feet. - Mouse Y could map to sun elevation → shadow length (higher sun = shorter shadow, low sun = long dramatic shadow). - Smoothly interpolated (lerp) via rAF for buttery motion. - Dappled light blobs also shift slightly with sun angle — patches move opposite to shadow direction. **Palette**: Warm late-afternoon golden hour: warm cream paper (#f7efe0-ish), deep forest greens with warm tint (olive, moss), golden light (#ffd98a, #ffb85c), warm browns for trunks, terracotta/rust accents for the boy's clothing. Avoid blue/purple entirely — this is a warm golden-hour scene. Maybe hints of soft teal-green in shadowed areas for depth but staying warm overall. **Typography**: A storybook needs a lovely serif or display font. Options from Google Fonts: "Fraunces" (beautiful, characterful serif with optical sizing — perfect for storybook), or "Cormorant", or "Gitan" (not on Google), "Caudex"... Fraunces is excellent for this. Body text in Fraunces too, or a softer serif like "Gowun Batang"? For a storybook page, I could include a short poetic caption — like a line from the page: something evocative in French (since user wrote French) or match? The user's request is in French ("Page avec ombres") but the rest is an English description of the scene. I'll respond in French since the user's instruction language is French. UI copy in French then. A short poetic caption: "Ils marchaient sous les arbres, et leurs ombres marchaient avec eux." — that's lovely and on-theme. Title maybe: "La Promenade" or "L'Heure dorée" or "Ombres longues". Let me design the page composition: - Full viewport scene, but framed like a book plate: maybe the illustration fills the screen with a subtle paper-grain vignette border, and the title + caption typeset elegantly in a corner or below. - Alternative: an actual open-book presentation — two pages side by side, illustration on one, text on the other. That could be charming but risks feeling gimmicky on small screens. I think a full-bleed illustrated scene with a thin paper border/frame and elegant caption text overlaid (like a picture book page) is stronger and more immersive. Let me go with: full-bleed scene, subtle paper texture overlay (SVG noise filter for grain), thin warm border like a plate frame, title in top-left in Fraunces ("La Promenade" small caps or italic), caption at bottom center in italic, small. Maybe a page number "— 12 —" at bottom for the book feel. Cute detail: page corner that could curl? Maybe too much. Keep restrained. **Rendering plan (SVG)**: ViewBox: 1600 × 900 (16:9). preserveAspectRatio="xMidYMax slice" to fill. Layers back → front: 1. Sky: warm gradient (soft gold to pale cream) — wait, gradients. I said I avoid decorative gradients as a crutch, but a sky in an illustration is not decorative UI gradient — it's the actual scene rendering. A sky gradient in an illustrated scene is legitimate craft (like any painted illustration). I'll use it purposefully: warm golden sky, soft. That's fine — it serves the scene, not fake polish. Similarly radial light glow for sun through leaves — that's the subject matter itself (sunlight filtering). Justified. 2. Far tree line: silhouetted trees in muted warm green-gray, low contrast (atmospheric perspective). 3. Mid trees: more defined trunks and canopies, warmer greens. 4. Ground: forest floor — warm ochre/green, with a path slightly lighter where they walk. 5. Dappled light on ground: group of blurred irregular ellipse/organic shapes in warm light color, blend mode screen/overlay, slowly drifting and morphing (scale/translate animations with different durations). Also dapples ON the characters? Could add a few blurred light patches over the boy with blend mode — subtle. Maybe a couple drifting over the trunk of trees too. 6. Characters: boy + puppy with shadows. 7. Near foreground: large tree trunk on one side framing, foreground grass/ferns silhouettes darker, maybe some hanging leaves from top edge — creates depth framing. 8. God rays: 2–3 soft slanted light beams (very translucent warm white polygons, blurred) from upper area down through canopy, animating opacity very slowly. 9. Floating motes/leaves: tiny warm dots drifting down slowly, a leaf or two spiraling. 10. Grain/vignette: SVG feTurbulence grain overlay + soft vignette for storybook print feel. **Character design** (this is where craft matters most — needs to feel authored): Boy (side view, walking left-to-right or right-to-left?). Let's have them walking toward the right — feels forward-moving, and shadows trail to the left. Actually with mouse-controlled sun, shadows can go either direction. Default sun from upper-left → shadows to the right, walking right means shadows ahead of them... Typically nicer: characters walk right, sun behind-left, long shadows stretching to the right ahead of them. Or sun from right, shadows trailing left behind them — trailing shadows feel classic for walking scenes. Default: sun upper-right? Hmm. Let me set default sun from the left (like the illustration brief "sunlight filtering through leaves" — rays from upper left), characters walking to the right, long shadows to their right. When mouse moves, sun swings. Actually simpler mental model: mouse X = sun horizontal position; shadow direction = opposite of sun position relative to scene center. Default sun at upper-left-ish. Boy design: warm storybook style — round head, simple face (dot eyes, small smile, rosy cheek), tousled hair, striped or plain shirt (rust/terracotta), shorts (olive or mustard), boots, maybe a stick in hand or a satchel. Keep shapes simple and rounded — naive storybook charm. Legs animate: stride. Drawing a convincing walking cycle in raw SVG with CSS transforms: I'll build the boy as: - group #boy at position, with inner group for bob - back arm (behind body), back leg (behind), body (torso+head), front leg, front arm, head group (slight tilt bob) Legs: each leg is a path from hip to foot with a knee bend? Simplest believable: two-segment legs (thigh + shin) with independent rotation would be complex. Alternative: draw each leg as a single curved path and animate rotation at hip ± few degrees, with slight foot lift illusion via scaleY? At small amplitude with a gentle bob, single-piece legs rotating from hip ~8–10° counter-phase reads as a stroll, especially in a stylized illustration. Add subtle knee by drawing the leg with a slight bend baked in and rotating — acceptable. Actually, a nicer trick: animate each leg with two keyframes of rotation and a slight vertical lift at mid-swing via translate. Keep it subtle. Puppy: smaller — body ellipse, head, floppy ear (rotating wag), tail (wag), 4 legs (small capsules rotating in pairs, diagonal gait), bob faster (~0.6s cycle). Tongue out? Maybe just a happy open mouth. Puppy trotting slightly ahead or behind the boy — classic: puppy a bit ahead, looking back? Or beside slightly behind. I'll place puppy ahead-right of boy, small, tail up wagging. Maybe puppy stops occasionally? Too complex. Keep continuous trot. Leash? A leash connecting boy to puppy would be charming — a curved path between hand and puppy collar. But animating a dynamic leash (sag curve that responds to gait) — I can animate the path `d` between two keyframe shapes via SMIL or CSS? Path morphing needs same command structure; CSS `d` property works in Chromium for path interpolation if same structure. Alternatively use SMIL `` — works well. Leash: a quadratic curve from boy's hand to puppy's neck, with slight sway animation. If they're both walking with bob, the endpoints move a bit; the leash with its own gentle wave will mask discrepancies. Nice detail — adds narrative ("boy walking puppy"). The brief says "a boy and a puppy walking" — leash optional but adds storybook charm. I'll add a slack leash with animated sag. Boy's front arm holds leash extended slightly forward-down. Hmm, complexity is growing. Let me be careful to keep it achievable and polished. Priorities: 1. Gorgeous static illustration (composition, palette, shapes) — must be excellent. 2. Shadows: long soft shadows under boy & puppy + tree trunk shadows, animated sway + mouse-driven sun. 3. Dappled light drifting. 4. Gentle walk cycle + scrolling forest parallax. 5. Leash, motes, rays — nice-to-have details, include if manageable. **Shadow implementation**: For each character, a shadow: a flattened ellipse/organic blob (dark warm brown, low opacity, blurred slightly) positioned at feet. To make it "stretch": wrap in a group; apply transform scaleX (1.5–3 based on sun elevation) and skewX/rotate based on sun azimuth, origin at the feet anchor. Also the shadow should be offset in the direction away from sun. So: shadowGroup transform = translate(footX, footY) rotate(dirAngle) scale(sx, 1) then inner blob drawn extending in +x direction from origin. Sun azimuth from mouse: sunX from -1..1 → shadow direction flips. Also tree shadows: long soft dark bands from the framing tree trunk across the path — these can also respond to mouse (rotate/scale). And dappled patches counter-shift. Since shadow direction can flip (sun crossing center), rotation handles it: rotate from ~ -80° (sun left → shadow right, nearly along +x) ... Let me param: sun position angle θ = atan2 based on mouse. Simpler: sunAzimuth ∈ [-60°, 60°] mapped from mouseX (0..1): azimuth = lerp(-60, 60, mx)? If sun is to the left (mx small), shadows point right (+x, angle ~0 meaning shadow extends toward +x if we define shadow as extending along direction opposite the sun). Define shadowAngle = atan2(sunY - groundY?, ...). Keep it simple and robust: - mouseX ∈ [0,1] → sunScreenX ∈ [-1, 1] (normalized offset from center). - shadowDir = -sign/continuous: shadowAngle (deg) = -sunScreenX * 40 → when sun at left (-1), shadowAngle = +40?? Hmm let me think: shadow extends away from sun. If sun is at left (screen x negative), shadow extends to the right → shadow vector +x. I'll define shadow group: blob drawn extending toward +x from origin; rotation r rotates it. r = 0 → shadow points right. If sun at right (+1), shadow points left → r = 180? That flips vertically too (blob mirrored) — fine if blob is roughly symmetric top-bottom, or I can just use scaleX(-1) instead of rotate 180 to mirror horizontally without vertical flip. Cleaner: use scaleX(sign) and rotation limited to ±35° for elevation effects: - s = sunX normalized [-1,1]; shadowScaleX = lengthFactor * s' where s' negative when sun right (shadow to left)... let me just compute: shadow direction angle from feet: pointing away from sun horizontally: dir = -s (normalized). Shadow blob base drawn pointing +x. transform = translate(fx, fy) scale(dirLen, 1) rotate(tilt) where I combine rotate(dir<0 ? 180 - tilt : tilt)... getting messy. Cleaner: compute transform in JS with a single matrix: translate(fx,fy) rotate(a) scale(L, W) where a = angle of shadow direction: a = atan2(0.35 * -sunYcomponent?, -sunX)... Let's define sun elevation e from mouseY (top = high sun = short shadow; bottom = low sun = long shadow). Actually invert: mouseY small (top) → sun high → short shadows; mouseY large (bottom of screen) → sun low → long shadows. Length L = lerp(0.8, 3.2, my). Direction: d = -mx' (mx' = mouseX-0.5 mapped [-1,1]) → angle a = (d>0 ? 0 : 180) + tilt where tilt = small ±12° based on... hmm. Simplest robust: a = atan2(-0.0?, ...) Let me just do: shadowAngle = -sunXnorm * 30 (degrees) — meaning shadow direction rotates from pointing right-down-ish to left... but at sunX=0 (sun overhead-ish center), shadow points... where? For a "sun filtering through leaves" scene, sun is generally to one side. Let me define shadow as: angle from +x axis: θ = 180 - sunAngleFromCenter... OK, practical approach: sun position is a point in normalized screen coords: sun = (sx, sy) where sx ∈ [-1.6, 1.6] from mouseX, sy ∈ [-0.4, 0.9] from mouseY (sun somewhere upper region typically). For a foot at (fx, fy) in screen coords, shadow direction = normalize(foot - sun) projected on ground... but our scene is a flat illustration, not 3D. The classic storybook convention: shadows stretch on the ground plane horizontally. So: shadow direction = horizontal sign of (foot - sun) with length ∝ inverse elevation & distance. So: dx = fx - sunScreenX (in scene units). If dx > 0, shadow points right (rotate ~0), else points left. Length ∝ (elevation factor) * (1 + |dx|*k) — farther sun → longer shadow. Tilt: small skew based on vertical component for softness. Transform: translate(fx, fy) rotate(dx > 0 ? tiltR : 180 + tiltR) scale(L * (1+|dxN|*0.4), 1) — with blob symmetric-ish vertically so 180 flip is OK. I'll draw shadow blob fairly symmetric (an elongated soft blob with slight taper). Taper: shadow should taper away from the body — I can bake taper into the path and handle flip by scaling Y? If I rotate 180°, a right-tapering blob becomes left-tapering — which is exactly what we want for left-pointing shadows! Great: rotate 180 handles taper direction naturally. And tilt: rotate extra small angle ± (based on dy?) — the tilt makes shadow look like it recedes. Let me add tilt = clamp(-(dxN)*8, ...) hmm, keep tilt small constant-ish like 4–10° for style. Also blur the shadow with feGaussianBlur (stdDeviation ~4) and low opacity (~0.25) warm dark color (#4a3524 or so, maybe a deep warm umber with slight transparency). Plus a tighter contact shadow (small dark ellipse right at feet, higher opacity, minimal blur) that stays under feet regardless of stretch — grounds the character. Smooth with lerp each frame: current values ease toward targets (factor ~0.04–0.08) → "soft shadows shifting slowly". **Dappled light**: group of ~8–12 organic blobs (paths/ellipses) in warm light (#ffdf9e / #fff3c9) with blur filter and mix-blend-mode: soft-light or screen on the ground. Animate each: translate slowly along slight paths (CSS keyframes with long durations 18–40s, alternate), plus slight scale breathing. Counter-shift with mouse: whole dapple group translateX = sunXnorm * 30 or so (opposite shadows). Also a few dapples ON the characters' bodies (over-layer, blend screen, small, drifting) — subtle sunlight spots on the boy's shoulder etc. That's a lovely touch. Maybe 2–3 small ones over characters. **God rays**: 3 polygons slanting from top, fill warm white at 6–10% opacity, blur 8–14px, slow opacity pulse (8–14s), slight translate drift with mouse (parallax opposite). They should angle consistent with sun side — I could rotate the ray group with mouse too! Rays rotate slightly with sun azimuth — nice coherence. Since rays emanate from sun side, rotate group around a high pivot by sunXnorm * 8°. **Forest scroll**: layers move left slowly (characters walking right). Speeds: far 6px/s? Actually very slow: far layer 4 px per cycle... Use CSS animations: each layer has a duplicated seamless strip (width 2× scene) translating from 0 to -50% over long durations (e.g., 90s far, 45s mid, 25s near-ground details? Ground itself scrolling would require seamless ground texture — doable: ground band with repeating organic shapes duplicated). Foreground framing tree: if it scrolls it would exit — keep framing tree static (like camera-attached foliage? no...). Hmm, physically framing trees should also pass by. Options: have 2 large framing trees that scroll past very slowly and wrap around (long cycle, e.g., 120s so they come back rarely) — or keep them static and treat them as "very near camera" parallax that's out of the walking plane... In 2.5D logic, nearest layer moves fastest. A static huge foreground trunk breaks the walking illusion subtly but many storybook animations do keep a foreground frame static. Alternative: make foreground framing elements (grass tufts, fern, mushrooms at bottom edge) scroll fastest and wrap — that sells motion strongly. And large trees: make the near-left tree scroll too but on a long loop with 2 trees spaced one viewport apart, seamless wrap. I can do that: each scrolling layer contains a group duplicated at x and x+1600, animate translateX -1600 → 0 loop (or 0 → -1600). Seamless if layer content tiles with period 1600. Let me structure scrolling layers: - L0 sky (static) + sun glow (position shifts with mouse) - L1 far treeline: tile 1600, speed 8s per... let me define durations: far 140s per 1600px (≈11.4 px/s? that's 1600/140 ≈ 11 px/s — a bit fast; for a stroll, maybe 10–18 px/s is fine actually. Walking pace ~1.4 m/s; if scene width ~ 20 m? 1600px ≈ 16 m → 1.4 m/s ≈ 140 px/s — too fast visually. Storybook slow stroll: I'll pick 22 px/s? Hmm, characters' step cadence should roughly match ground speed: stride ~ 60px per step, cadence 2 steps/s → 120 px/s would be real-time. That looks frantic. Storybook walks are gentler: I'll use ~30–40 px/s with slower cadence ~0.9 steps/s (stride 35–45px). Let me set: mid trees 36s/1600px ≈ 44px/s? Hmm. Let me not overthink: choose pleasing values: far 120s (13px/s), mid 70s (23px/s), ground 50s (32px/s), near foreground 32s (50px/s). Boy's gait cycle: 1.1s full stride cycle (two steps) → relative to ground 32px/s, stride per cycle = 36px ≈ subtle slide of feet vs ground... In walk-in-place illusions, foot sliding is always present unless matched perfectly; at slow speeds and stylized art it's unnoticeable, especially with grass tufts passing. Good. Seamless tiling: I need each layer's content to repeat with period 1600. I'll generate tree positions procedurally in JS at build time? Since it's one HTML file, I can generate SVG content with JS at load: build tiles programmatically (randomized but seeded/deterministic) — this gives organic variety (trees of varied heights, trunks, canopies made of clustered circles/blobs) rather than hand-writing hundreds of nodes. Yes! I'll write a generator: - `makeFarTrees()`: silhouette blobs — rounded tree shapes (trunk + canopy blob) in muted color, along 1600px with variation, duplicated at offset 1600. - `makeMidTrees()`: more detailed: trunks with slight curves, canopy as 3–5 overlapping circles in 2 greens, occasional warm-autumn tree (rust/amber) for palette accent — beautiful: mostly green forest with a few golden/amber trees = late summer/early autumn golden hour. - Ground: base band + path + scattered grass tufts, small stones, mushrooms, tiny flowers — scattered with period 1600. - Ferns/foreground grass: darker silhouettes. Procedural generation with a seeded RNG (mulberry32) keeps it deterministic and authored-looking if I tune parameters. Trees style: storybook = soft rounded canopies. Canopy: cluster of 4–7 circles overlapping, single flat color per tree (or two-tone: base + lighter top-left highlight blob for light side — light side should face the sun! I can make highlight offset configurable; sun side changes with mouse... that's heavy; I'll bake highlight toward upper-left (default sun) and keep it. Fine.) Canopy edges: circles give lumpy nice shapes. Add slight color variation per tree. Also hanging branch from top-right with leaves for framing? Top canopy band: a dark-green leafy band along the top edge with some hanging leaf clusters — frames the scene, static or slowest scroll. Let me make top canopy part of "mid" layer? If top band scrolls it might look odd; actually canopy overhead scrolling slowly is natural. I'll add a top foliage band in the mid layer (so it scrolls at mid speed) with hanging clusters. **Boy & puppy drawings** — I'll hand-craft these paths carefully. Let me design coordinates. Boy (side profile facing right), origin at feet center (0,0), height ~ 170px: - Head: circle r=26 at (8, -138) — slightly forward. Hair: tousled cap over head — path with bumps; hair color warm brown (#6b4a2f). Face: skin (#f2c79b / warmer #edb98a). Ear: small circle. Eye: dot at (18, -140). Smile: small arc. Cheek blush: soft pink ellipse low opacity. - Neck: short. - Torso: rounded rect / path from shoulders (~y=-112) to hips (~y=-64), width ~34, leaning slightly forward (walking lean ~4°). Shirt color: warm terracotta/rust (#c96f4a) with a lighter collar stripe? Or mustard shirt (#e0a83e) with rust shorts. Let me choose: mustard-ochre shirt #d9a441, rust shorts #a65237, boots brown #7a4a2a, socks cream. Hair chestnut. Skin warm. Palette pops nicely against greens. - Backpack? A small satchel on back adds storybook charm: small rounded rect on his back, strap across chest. Color deep green or rust. Nice. - Arms: front arm extends forward-down holding leash (hand at ~(34, -78)); back arm swings. Sleeve same shirt color, hand skin circle. - Legs: from hips (0, -64): shorts to knee (~-40), then sock/leg to boot. Each leg group: rotate at hip (0,-64). Leg drawn downward: thigh path + shin + boot at bottom (boot at y 0..-10 area, extending forward toes). Front leg rotated +10° (forward), back leg -12° — animate between. Walk animation: CSS keyframes on .legF { rotate: from 14deg to -16deg } alternate with cubic-bezier for ease; body bob: translateY 0 → -4 at passing pose; slight torso rotate 2°. Head slight counter-tilt. Arms: front arm holding leash stays mostly steady (small ±6° swing), back arm swings ±14° counter-phase to front leg. Phase: front leg & back arm in phase; standard. Puppy (origin at feet, height ~ 60px, length ~ 70px): - Body: rounded bean from chest (10,-34) to rear (-26,-30). - Head: circle r=14 at (20,-40) with snout, nose dot, happy eye, floppy ear (animated rotate pivot at top of head) — ear color slightly darker. - Tail: curved path from rear up, wag rotate ±20° at 0.5s? Wag fast ~0.45s alternate. Tail up happy. - Legs: 4 small: front pair near chest, back pair near rear; trot: diagonal pairs together — front-left+back-right vs front-right+back-right... in side view: front legs swing ~±14°, back legs ~±14°, with diagonal phase. Simplify: frontF & backB phase A; frontB & backF phase B, slightly faster cadence 0.55s cycle. Bob on body ±2px. - Colors: warm honey/golden pup (#d9a35b?) or brown-and-white? Golden pup with darker ear/tail tips, white chest patch, cute. Against green forest, honey-gold reads well and echoes sunlight. Leash: path from boy hand (approx world coords) to puppy collar. Both characters in a shared "walkers" group positioned around center-left? They walk in place while world scrolls — place them around x=640 (left-of-center) so shadows stretch right across open path. Boy at (620, groundY=740?), puppy ahead at (720, 745). Ground line: let ground band start y=640 to 900; feet around y=760. Scene 1600×900. Leash curve: from hand (620+34=654, 760-78=682) to collar (720+8=728, 760-42=718). Slack leash: quadratic with control point below the line: M 654 682 Q 690 725 728 718 — sagging nicely. Animate: two alternating control points (Q 690 720 / Q 685 730) via SMIL animate d, dur 1.1s (matching gait) — subtle. Also leash color: rust red strap. Since characters bob, leash endpoints move ±3px — the animated sag masks it. Fine. **Shadows**: - Boy shadow group at (620, 762): contact ellipse + long blob extending +x (length base ~200px). Under transform control. - Puppy shadow at (724, 764): smaller, length ~110. - Tree shadows: for mid-layer trees? If trees scroll, their shadows scroll too — attach shadows to tree bases in the mid layer: each mid tree gets a soft shadow ellipse stretched to the right, ALSO affected by sun direction... If sun flips, tree shadows flip — need per-tree transform updates in JS. I can tag shadow groups with class "sunshadow" and JS updates all of them with same angle/length logic (with their own base length). Doable: query `.sun-shadow` elements, each has data-anchor x,y via transform attribute already positioned; JS sets an inner group transform rotate/scale. I'll structure: `` and JS sets `.stretch` transform = `rotate(a) scale(l, 1)` around origin. Since transform-origin in SVG transforms is the local origin (0,0) which is the anchor — perfect. For mouse-flipped direction: rotate(a) where a ∈ (-14°, 14°) for right-pointing plus 180 flip variant. With scale(l,1): if l positive and a near 0 → points right; for left-pointing: rotate(180 - a?) plus scaleX(l) with taper path pointing +x — rotating 180 flips taper to point -x. But rotate(180) also mirrors vertically — taper is vertical-symmetric-ish? My shadow path: elongated blob with rounded far end and wider near body, slightly tapered — vertical asymmetry minimal (could add slight organic waviness; mirroring it is unnoticeable). OK. Compute per frame in JS: ``` sunX = lerp(-1.4, 1.4, mx) // normalized elev = 1 - my // 0..1, top of screen = high sun len = lerp(2.6, 0.7, elev) // stretch factor dirSign = -sign(sunX) or smooth: dir = (sunX >= 0) ? ... angle = dirSign>0 ? 6 - sunX*8 : 186 - sunX*8 (tune) ``` Hmm wait: if sun is left (sunX negative), shadow points right: angle ≈ small positive? The tilt: shadows on ground pointing away... tilt in 2D: I'll tilt slightly "up-screen" (negative angle rotates the +x shadow toward upper-right?) In SVG, positive rotate = clockwise. Shadow pointing right and slightly toward viewer/down = +small angle. Let me: right-pointing: angle = 4 + sunX*10 → sun at left (-1.4): angle 4-14=-10 (shadow tilted up-right — away from sun below? plausible). Left-pointing: angle = 176 - sunX*10 → sun right (1.4): 176-14=162 → direction 162° = left & slightly up? Hmm I want left & slightly down maybe: 180+? Let me just tune with: angle = dir * (90 - 90*?)... Overcomplicating. Simplify to two tilt states: shadow rotates between -12° (pointing right, slightly upward-screen) and 192° (left, slightly downward?) — honestly, slight up-tilt both ways looks fine in stylized art: right-shadow at -8°, left-shadow at 188° (=180+8, tilts downward-left? rotate 188 → vector at 188° = left and slightly down). Mirror consistency: for mirrored look, use 180 + (−(−8))? Mirror of -8° across vertical axis is 188°. Yes: mirrored angle = 180 - a for right-angle a=-8 → 188. So: angle = (dir>0 ? a : 180 - a) where a = -4 + sunX*10 clamped [-14, 14]... when sunX negative (sun left), a more negative → shadow tilts more upward? Let me define a = sunX * 12 → sun left: a=-12 → right-shadow tilted -12° (up-right, since sun is up-left, shadow goes down-right?? ugh). Physical reasoning: sun up-left → shadow down-right → on screen, down-right = angle ~ +5..+15° (clockwise from +x). Sun up-right → shadow down-left → angle ~ 180-10=170°. Sun near top (centered) → shadow nearly straight "down-screen"?? In flatland convention, shadows lie on ground plane drawn horizontally; tilt conveys depth. I'll define tilt t = sunX * 10 (sun left → t=-10: shadow angled slightly up-right; hmm physically should be down-right). Let me flip: t = -sunX * 10 → sun left (sunX=-1): t=+10 → shadow down-right ✓. Sun right (sunX=+1): shadow left: mirrored angle = 180 - t = 170 → left & slightly up?? Mirror of down-right (+10) across vertical = down-left = 180+10=190. So left-shadow angle = 180 + t = 190 ✓. So: right case angle = t; left case angle = 180 + t. t = -sunX*10 clamped ±14. And length: len = baseLen * (lerp(0.75, 2.4, (1-myNorm))) * (1 + |sunX|*0.35) (low/far sun = longer). Contact shadow static. Also opacity slightly varies with length? Longer shadows at low sun could be a touch stronger. Minor. Dapples shift: dappleGroup translateX = -sunX * 40 (dapples shift opposite? they shift with sun movement... leaf dapples move with sun? When sun moves, dapple pattern shifts same direction as sun? Light through leaves: pattern shifts same direction as sun moves? Actually shadow of leaves shifts opposite... dapples (light spots) shift same direction as the sun's image... The light spots move in the same direction as the sun (pinhole projection inverts, but leaf-edge shadows... ) — nobody will analyze physics; I'll shift dapples slightly WITH sun (translateX = sunX*30) so they feel attached to light while body shadows swing opposite. And rays rotate with sun. Sun glow: a soft radial glow positioned upper-left area (default), moves with mouse (parallax * some factor). Place glow at (sx_px, sy_px) = (cx + sunX*420, 90 + myNorm*160)? Sun mostly above/behind canopy — a glowing spot visible through leaves at upper area, moving with mouse. Lovely: a bright core circle + big soft radial gradient halo, partially behind canopy silhouettes but in front of sky. If canopy is drawn over sky, glow behind canopy = sun peeking through leaves ✓. Add tiny sparkle? no. **Foreground layer**: dark warm-green grass/fern silhouettes along bottom, some tall grass blades swaying gently (rotate ±2° slow), a few big leaves entering from corners. These scroll fastest with wrap. Also 1–2 large mushroom clusters. All in silhouette-dark tone (#2e4632? warm dark green #35523a or deep umber-green #3a4a2f) — creates depth via dark framing. Foreground bottom band should not cover characters' feet weirdly — characters stand mid-ground; foreground silhouettes at very bottom edge (y>820) and maybe sides. **Paper & frame**: body background: warm cream (#f4ead8) with subtle grain; the scene sits inset with a thin double border? A classic book plate: cream page margin around the illustration (~28px), inside the illustration a hairline rule (1px #b49b74) offset 10px — elegant. Plus page title top-left on the cream margin: "La Promenade" in Fraunces italic; top-right: "II" chapter numeral or "L'heure dorée"; bottom-right page number "— 47 —". Caption bottom margin center: italic line. All on the cream border area (outside SVG). Since viewport varies, use CSS: body padding, .plate position relative, SVG fills plate, absolutely positioned typographic elements on the padding area. On small screens padding shrinks. Also a subtle vignette inside the illustration edges (radial-gradient overlay, warm dark, low opacity) — painterly focus. And grain: SVG feTurbulence overlay across whole page (opacity 0.05, blend multiply) for print texture. **Caption/text**: French. Title: "La Promenade". Chapter-ish: "L'heure dorée". Caption: "Ils marchaient sans bruit sous les arbres, et leurs ombres longues marchaient avec eux." Maybe interactive hint subtly: "— bougez la lumière —" tiny hint bottom-left telling users the mouse moves the sun. Keep it in small caps, very subtle. Or integrate hint into caption: after 3s fade in a tiny "glissez la lumière" hint. I'll put a small hint line under caption: "déplacez la souris — le soleil suit" in tiny italic, low opacity. In French. Since user's language French → all copy French. **Loading/entry**: gentle intro: scene fades in, title letters appear? Keep simple: whole plate fades/rises in 1.2s, caption after. Maybe title has a slight letter-spacing animation. Subtle. **Sound?** No — keep silent. Maybe not needed. **Performance**: SVG with ~200–400 nodes, CSS animations, one rAF loop for lerp updates — fine. Blur filters on shadows/dapples: use filter with small stdDeviation; many blurred elements can be heavy — limit: shadows 2 character + ~8 tree shadows; dapples ~10 with one shared blur filter; rays 3 with blur. Should be OK. Use `will-change: transform` sparingly. Let me now carefully plan the SVG structure and the JS generator. ```html ``` Scrolling implementation: `.scroll` groups animated with CSS `@keyframes scrollX { from { transform: translateX(0) } to { transform: translateX(-1600px) } }` linear infinite, durations per class. Tile content drawn for x∈[0,1600) and duplicated at +1600 → when group shifts by -1600, duplicate occupies original slot → seamless. But wait: CSS transforms on SVG work in modern browsers (treated as CSS transforms with px units mapping to user units when SVG is scaled? CSS px on SVG elements = user units, yes, transform-box: view-box? For translate in px it applies in user units — yes since SVG2 user units = px for CSS transforms). Fine. Mouse-driven transforms (shadows, sun, rays, dapples) via JS on inner groups — must not conflict with CSS animation on same element; keep them on separate nested groups ✓. Character animation via CSS keyframes on subgroups ✓. **Parallax on mouse**: also slight camera parallax: layers shift a few px opposite mouse (far less, near more): apply to wrapper groups #farLayer etc. translateX(mx * ±k). But those wrappers contain .scroll children animating — fine, separate elements. Add subtle translateY too? Keep just X + tiny Y. Camera parallax direction: moving mouse right → camera pans right → layers shift left slightly (near more). far ±6px, mid ±12, front ±24, characters ±? characters are the subject — keep them static or ±4. Sun glow moves with mouse more directly. Careful: too many moving systems = chaotic. Keep amplitudes small. **Ground**: base: rect y=640..900 fill vertical gradient #a8b06a → #8a9455? Warm grass: storybook golden-hour grass: #9aa85f top → #77804a bottom? Add warm patches. Path: a light tan path (#d9c08f) curving horizontally where they walk (y≈735..790) with soft edges — path band drawn as a long wavy band spanning 3200px in the scrolling ground-details layer so it moves too? The path is the walkway — it should scroll with world ✓. Put path in scroll layer (ground speed) as a wavy-edged band; seamless: make its edges wavy with period 1600. Also scattered stones, tufts, tiny flowers, mushrooms on ground layer. Characters' feet at y≈760 on path ✓. **Dappled light shapes**: organic blobs: use paths made of overlapping circles union look — simplest: each dapple = cluster? Or single blob path. I'll generate dapples as small groups of 2–3 overlapping ellipses with shared blur & light color, blend soft-light... Actually blend modes inside SVG: `mix-blend-mode` works on SVG elements in modern browsers ✓. Use `style="mix-blend-mode: soft-light"` or "screen". On darker ground, screen with warm light (#ffd98c at 0.5 opacity, blur 6) gives glow patches. Animate each dapple group: keyframes drifting: translate small loops + opacity 0.5↔0.9 slow. Stagger delays. ~10 dapples over path/ground + 3 over characters (smaller, in front, screen blend, low opacity). **Rays**: polygons like narrow quadrilaterals from top slanting to right-down: e.g., points (x, -50) (x+40,-50) (x+180, 620) (x+120,620) with blur 10, fill #ffe9b0, opacity 0.10, blend screen? On illustration, plain normal blend with low opacity fine. 3 rays with different widths/opacities; group rotated by sun. Slow shimmer: each ray's opacity animates 0.06↔0.14, durations 9s/13s/17s, plus slight translateX drift. **Motes**: ~14 tiny circles r 1.5–3, warm cream, opacity 0.5, drifting upward-down slow loops via CSS (translate + opacity), staggered. Also 2 falling leaves: small leaf paths spiraling down slowly (rotate + translate keyframes, 14–20s, then repeat — falling from top to bottom across scene, slight sway; repeat infinite with delay). Leaves color: amber (#d98f3e). **Tree shadow bands**: under mid trees, long soft dark ellipses skewed — generated per tree: at tree base (x, groundY ~ 690?) mid trees stand slightly behind path at y≈700 (their base). Their shadows stretch toward +x across the ground, length ~180–320. Use same sun-driven stretch system (class sun-shadow, data-len). These sit above ground details but below dapples? Order: ground details → tree shadows → path?? Tree shadows lie on ground: draw after ground base+path, before dapples. But trees themselves drawn earlier (mid layer above far, below ground?) — layering: far trees (y base ~660), ground band starts 640... Simplest painter's order: sky → far layer (distant treeline sits on horizon y≈655) → ground base rect (640–900) → mid trees (bases at y≈680–720, on ground) + their shadows → ground detail layer (path band + tufts at 30px/s, path in front of tree bases slightly) → tree shadows should be on top of path if trees are behind path... ugh. Physical: path is on the ground; trees stand beside/behind the path; their shadows fall across path → shadows above path. So order: ground base → ground details (path, tufts, stones) → tree shadows (long bands) → dapples → characters (their shadows just below themselves, above dapples? Character shadows above dapples? Dapples could overlap shadows (light patch over shadow) — that's realistic & pretty: dapples above shadows, characters above their own shadows... but dapples over character shadows but under characters: order → tree/char shadows → dapples → characters → top dapples over characters → foreground → motes → rays-in-front? Rays before characters or after — put main rays before characters, one faint after. Wait but mid trees need to be drawn before ground details if their trunks go behind the path band? The path band spans full width at y 735–795; mid tree trunks' bases at y≈690–720 → above the path band region, so trunks end before path starts — no overlap issue. Trees stand "behind" the path visually since their bases are higher on screen ✓. Their shadows extend down-right crossing the path → drawn after path ✓. Far treeline: silhouette shapes rising from horizon y≈650, drawn before ground base? Ground base rect from y=640 would cover treeline bottoms — draw far layer, then ground rect from y=645 with slight irregular top edge? Better: far treeline bases at y=648, ground rect starts y=645 → overlaps 3px, hides seams ✓. Actually give ground an irregular top edge via a path with gentle bumps for organic horizon. Nice. **Canopy top band**: hanging foliage from top: in mid layer (scroll 70s), dark-green leaf cluster band along y<90 with hanging clumps; plus a couple of branch shapes. Since scrolling, tile at period 1600 ✓. Also far canopy lighter band behind it? Keep one band + maybe some individual leaves hanging with sway animation (rotate ±3°). Nice. **The sun glow**: position around (cx + sunX*300, 120 + myN*120). Glow drawn behind far layer? Behind everything except sky → sun seen through distant trees?? Better between far and mid? If glow after far layer, it appears in front of distant treeline — looks like sun among mid trees ✓. Put after far layer, before mid trees: sun peeks between mid trunks? The glow radius ~180 with soft gradient; mid trees drawn over it → sun behind canopy, beams visible in gaps ✓. Plus small bright core r=26 (#fff6d8, blur 4) + halo r=170 radial gradient (#ffe9ae → transparent, blur 0) opacity 0.9. Also the sky itself: gradient #f7e9c8 top → #f3d99b? Warm pale. Horizon glow band lighter near y=650: add subtle lighter band. Keep sky understated so canopy & light carry. Palette check — overall: - Sky: #f9eccd → #f5dFA8 - Far trees: desaturated sage #a8b184 / #97a878 with warm haze — actually far silhouettes at golden hour: muted olive-gray #a3a878, opacity 1, single flat tone (atmospheric). - Mid trees: greens: #6f8f4f, #7d9a54, #5d7d44; trunks #7a5a38/#6b4e30; accent amber trees #d99a3f, #c97f35. - Ground: #98a258 base → #7c8a4a; path #dcc292 / #d3b57f. - Shadows: #5a4630 at 0.28 or dark umber #4a3a22. - Characters as above. - Foreground silhouettes: #42532f / #37472a (dark warm green). - Rays/dapples: #ffe9ad / #fff2c8. That's warm and cohesive. Good. **Boy details** — let me draft actual path data. I'll build with basic shapes to keep it robust: Boy group at translate(620, 762). Puppy 60px at shoulder ≈ puppy proportion vs boy: real puppy shoulder ~30cm vs boy 120cm → puppy should be ~42px if boy is 170. 60 slightly big but storybook-cute; make puppy ~52: scale pup group 0.9. I'll design then wrap in scale(0.92). **Tree shadow generation**: for each mid tree at (x, baseY): shadow group translate(x, baseY+4), inner .stretch with path: elongated tapering blob: `M 0 0 Q 30 -10 90 -8 Q L-40 -2 L 0 4 Q ...` Let me craft: a shadow band: starts width 26 at origin, extends L, tapering to a rounded end, slightly wavy: `M 0 -12 Q 60 -16 ${L*0.55} -9 Q ${L} -4 ${L} 0 Q ${L*0.55} 6 60 10 Q 20 12 0 12 Z` — an organic tapered band. With blur 5, fill #55452c opacity 0.22. Different lengths per tree (data-len 1.4–2.4 factor ×160px). These .stretch transforms updated in JS: rotate(a) scale(L,1). Since path base length 160, scale multiplies. Wait — JS updates: elements with class .sun-shadow-stretch; store per-element base data: rotate tilt included in JS-provided transform: `rotate(t) scale(s,1)`. For left-point: `rotate(180+t) scale(s,1)`. Character shadows: same mechanism but blob designed for char (shorter base, plus contact ellipse separate static). Boy shadow: base path length 210: `M 0 -10 Q 60 -14 120 -8 Q 210 -3 210 1 Q 120 7 60 9 Q 16 11 0 10 Z` + contact ellipse rx 26 ry 7 at feet (separate, static, darker 0.3). Actually incorporate contact: separate small ellipse always under feet ✓ (so when shadow rotates away, grounding remains). Puppy shadow: length ~120 similar shape scaled 0.6. Also boy's shadow should perhaps include a hint of his figure? Simple soft blob is the storybook norm ✓. Could add slightly head-shaped bump near origin: add small ellipse bump at origin area (like head+body silhouette hint): incorporate into path start: begin `M 0 -16 Q 10 -18 14 -10 ...` fine-tune later. **Dapples generation**: function makeDapple(x,y,s): group of 3 ellipses: (0,0,rx26,ry12), (18,6,rx18,ry9), (-14,8,rx14,ry8) fill #ffe6a3, filter blur4, opacity .55, blend screen; CSS anim: `dappleDrift` translate/opacity: keyframes: 0%: translate(0,0) op .45; 33%: translate(14,-6) op .75; 66%: translate(-10,5) op .6; 100% back — durations 16–34s random via inline style animation-duration & delay. Place ~10 across ground y 700–860 avoiding? They can overlap path & grass ✓ + 3 over characters (x 610–760, y 690–730, smaller scale 0.7, screen blend over boy: since drawn after characters, blend screen brightens character colors where overlapping ✓ opacity .35). Motes: JS-generated circles with CSS anim float (translate up-down + drift, opacity pulse), random durations 8–16s. Falling leaves: 2 hand-placed paths with CSS anim: keyframes: 0%: translate(0,-80) rotate(0); 25%: translate(60,180) rotate(80); 50%: translate(140,380) rotate(160)... to y 950; plus sway: use two nested groups (X sway + Y fall + rotate). Durations ~18s & 26s infinite linear? Falling should ease-sway: alternate sway on inner (rotate -20↔20, 2.4s) + outer translateY 0→1000 linear 20s + translateX wiggle via keyframes. Fine. **Rays**: polygons in group #raysRot (JS rotate around (800,-200)): ray polygon points e.g. `M 300 -80 L 360 -80 L 560 900 L 470 900 Z` blur 12 fill #fff0c0 opacity .08; second narrower; third wide faint. Their angles: default sun upper-left → rays slant from upper-left to lower-right: polygon tops at x smaller, bottoms shifted right by ~ (900+80)*tan(angle). Default tilt ~14°? If sun at upper-left (sunX negative), rays lean right-down ✓: top x=320, bottom x=320+260=580 etc. JS rotates group ±10° with sunX. Also since sun behind canopy on the left, rays should originate left-top area. Position rays across left 2/3. Also small light shafts shimmer — done via opacity anim. **Vignette**: radial gradient rect: transparent center → rgba(60,40,20,0.18) edges? Use radialGradient with fr? Standard: radialGradient cx .5 cy .45 r .75: stops: 0 transparent, 62% transparent, 100% rgba(70,45,20,.22). Plus top-edge darker band from canopy shadow: linear gradient top rgba(40,60,30,.12)→0 at 120px — adds depth under canopy. OK but that's a gradient used for painterly depth — legitimate scene rendering. **Grain**: feTurbulence fractalNoise baseFrequency .9 numOctaves 2 → feColorMatrix to alpha → rect fill#? Standard approach: filter with feTurbulence + feComponentTransfer; simpler: rect with filter=url(#grainF) where grainF outputs noise directly: `? Hmm produce brownish noise with alpha from luminance: use feColorMatrix values row alpha from R channel: "0 0 0 0 0.24 0 0 0 0 0.18 0 0 0 0 0.10 0.6 0 0 0 0" → alpha = 0.6*R. Then rect opacity 0.18 blend multiply? Let me: rect full, filter grain, mix-blend-mode: multiply? noise is brownish semi-transparent — just normal blend at low opacity works as paper grain. Put opacity 0.5 with alpha 0.10 → subtle. Also on cream margins? Grain rect only inside SVG scene; page margins get CSS subtle texture via repeating radial? Keep margins clean cream with hairline frame — elegant. **Frame typographic layout**: body: background #efe4cd (cream) with very subtle paper mottling? Add CSS: body::before with tiny radial-gradient dots pattern? Could use an inline SVG data-uri noise for the page margin... Simpler: keep cream flat + hairline double border around plate. Fine — flat warm cream reads as book page especially with grain inside plate. Layout: ``` .page { min-height:100vh; display:flex; padding: clamp(14px, 3vw, 40px); } .plate { position:relative; flex:1; display:flex; flex-direction:column; } ``` Actually structure: outer margin contains title top (over margin), plate center = scene, caption bottom margin. Simplest: .book { position:fixed inset padding; display flex column; } header row (title left, chapter right) height ~64px; main .scene-wrap flex:1 with border hairline + inner rule; footer caption ~72px. SVG absolutely fills scene-wrap with slice. On narrow screens: header/caption compress. Title: "La Promenade" — Fraunces 500 italic, size clamp(20px, 3.4vw, 34px), color #5a4630, letter-spacing slight. Left. Right side: "— L'heure dorée —" small caps? Use Fraunces small size uppercase letterspaced #8a7355. Bottom center caption: italic, #6b5638, clamp(13px,1.6vw,17px): "Ils marchaient sans un bruit sous les grands chênes, et leurs ombres longues les suivaient comme deux chiens dociles." — hmm "comme deux chiens dociles" cute (shadows following like two obedient dogs — poetic, references the puppy). Lovely storybook line. Page number bottom-right: "page 12" → "— 12 —". Top could also have small ornament ✦ — no emoji; use a small SVG diamond/flourish inline? A simple "❧"? That's a dingbat character (fleuron) — it's a typographic character, not emoji. U+2767 ❧ ROTATED FLORAL HEART BULLET — renders as text glyph; may not exist in Fraunces... risk of tofu. Use a small inline SVG leaf ornament I draw myself — safer & authored. Or just an em-dash rule. I'll draw a tiny 3-leaf sprig SVG ornament between title and subtitle. Nice craft touch. Hint: bottom-left tiny: "glissez la lumière — le soleil vous suit" in italic 11px, opacity .55. Or place inside plate bottom-left over scene? On the cream margin bottom-left. Fonts: Fraunces via Google Fonts CDN (allowed). Weights: italic 400;500;600 + normal 600. `https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Fraunces:ital,opsz,wght@0,9..144,400..700;1,9..144,300..700&display=swap`. **JS structure**: ```js const S = { mx:.5, my:.35, tx:.5, ty:.35 }; // current & target onmousemove → target; also touch support. tick: lerp; compute sunX = (mx-0.5)*2*1.35 (i.e. ±1.35); elev etc. apply: - sun glow transform translate - raysRot rotate - dapplesGround group translateX(sunX*30) (dapples move with light) — but dapples individually animate transform... put mouse-shift on parent group ✓. - all .stretch shadows: for each: read data-l (base), compute s = l * lenFactor; dir...; set transform. - camera parallax: #farPar translateX(-sunX*8) etc. Use CSS transform on wrapper groups. - sun glow position: (800 + sunX*260, 150 + (1-myN)*? ) sun vertical: mouse top = sun high: sunY = 90 + (1-tyN)*160? mouse y normalized 0 top: myN= my. sunY = 100 + (my)*140 → bottom of screen mouse = lower sun (y bigger) ✓. - lengthFactor from sunY: len = lerp(3.0, 0.8, clamp((sunY-90)/140)) → sun high (y=100) → len≈2.9? Wait high sun = short shadow: len should DECREASE with height: sunY small → len small?? Physical: high sun → short shadow. sunY small (high on screen) → len small. len = lerp(0.75, 3.1, (sunY-90)/140). Hmm but default view: I want dramatic long-ish shadows by default: set default my ≈ 0.32 → sunY = 100+45=145 → f=(55)/140=0.39 → len ≈ 0.75+2.35*0.39 ≈ 1.67 ×base160 ≈ 267px — nice medium-long. Moving mouse down → sun lowers → shadows stretch to ~3× (480px) dramatic ✓. Mouse up top → short ✓. - tilt t = sunX * 10 (deg): shadows tilt; when sun left, t negative → right-pointing shadow rotated -10 (up-right?) rotate negative = counterclockwise = pointing right and upward-screen... Sun up-left → shadow should go down-right → positive t?? t = -sunX*10: sun left(-1.35) → t=+13.5 → shadow rotated clockwise 13° → down-right ✓. Sun right: shadow points left: rotate(180 + t): t = -sunX*10 = -13.5 → rotate(166.5) → direction 166.5° = left, slightly up-screen?? direction 166.5° from +x axis (y down, positive rotate clockwise): angle 166.5 means cos=−0.97, sin=+0.27 → pointing left and DOWN (+y down) ✓ down-left ✓. So angle = dir>0 ? t : 180 + t where dir = (sunScreenXpx < footXpx)? Wait shadow points AWAY from sun: if sun is to the LEFT of scene center and foot at center → shadow right. In normalized: shadowDirSign = +1 when sunX < 0. So dir = sunX < 0 ? 1 : -1 with the blob pointing +x. At sunX near 0 (mouse centered) shadow direction ambiguous — flickers crossing 0. Fix: smooth: use continuous approach: shadowX = -sunX * something; represent direction as rotation only? A shadow can't smoothly pass through pointing "toward viewer". Trick: as sunX crosses 0, shadows shrink to minimum length then flip — natural! At sunX≈0 (sun overhead-ish), len multiplier *= (0.55 + 0.45*|sunX|/1.35)?? Actually overhead sun → shortest shadows anyway if we tie elevation... mouse center-top = overhead sun = short shadows; flipping happens at minimal length → imperceptible pop ✓. So multiply len by (0.5 + 0.5*min(1,|sunX|/0.9))? Let me incorporate: effectiveLen = len * (0.55 + 0.45*smoothstep(|sunX|/1.0)). And dir flips at 0 with tiny length → clean. Hmm, but default my is 0.32 → base len 1.67; at sunX 0 → 0.92×160=147 — still fine. Also dapples opposite: dappleGroup translateX = sunX * 34. - rays rotate: rot = sunX * 9 deg. - camera: far: -sunX*7, mid: -sunX*14, front: -sunX*26, walkers: -sunX*6? subtle. Also slight camera Y? skip. - sun glow: translate(800 + sunX*300, sunY). Also glow opacity slightly higher when sun low? golden. skip. rAF loop with lerp factor 0.06 → slow dreamy settling ✓ ("soft shadows shifting slowly"). Also on mouseleave: ease back to default (.5,.32)? Use initial target default; on pointerout of window → set target default. Fine. **Touch**: touchmove sets target. Also device orientation? skip. **Reduced motion**: prefers-reduced-motion: disable CSS animations via media query and JS check → skip rAF transforms (set static). I'll add a media query killing animations and JS guard. Good craft. **Seeded RNG**: mulberry32(seed) for deterministic layout; choose seed after imagining… any seed; I'll pick 7 and trust tuned parameters (widths/heights randomized in safe ranges so any seed looks fine). Let me now carefully write the generator code. ```js function mulberry32(a){return function(){a|=0;a=a+0x6D2B79F5|0;var t=Math.imul(a^a>>>15,1|a);t=t+Math.imul(t^t>>>7,61|t)^t;return((t^t>>>14)>>>0)/4294967296}} const R = mulberry32(20240614); const rnd=(a,b)=>a+(b-a)*R(); const ri=(a,b)=>Math.floor(rnd(a,b+1)); const pick=arr=>arr[Math.floor(R()*arr.length)]; ``` NS helpers: ```js const NS='http://www.w3.org/2000/svg'; function el(tag, attrs, parent){const n=document.createElementNS(NS,tag);for(const k in attrs)n.setAttribute(k,attrs[k]);if(parent)parent.appendChild(n);return n;} ``` **Far treeline**: generate silhouette: a continuous bumpy skyline path across 3200 (two tiles) OR individual rounded tree blobs in one flat color. Continuous band: path along y with bumps: baseline y=655, heights 40–110. Path: start (0, 900) up to (0, 655 - h0), then series of arcs: use Q segments: for x in steps of ~90: control bump. Simpler: build with overlapping circles: many circles r 30–70 at y 600–650 in far color → treeline blob band ✓ then a rect below to ground? The ground covers below 645. Far layer: circles cluster from y ~ 540–655, plus rect from 630–660 to fill gaps? Then ground rect (starting 645) covers bottom. Circles: color #a9ad82 (muted warm sage); maybe two sub-layers of far: lighter #b6b98e behind (drawn first), then main #a4a97e. Nice atmospheric banding. Round canopy circles with slight vertical ellipse squash? Trees as circles cluster: for each tree slot x every ~70–130px: 1–3 circles. Also occasional tall poplar-ish ellipse? Keep circles+bumps. **Mid trees**: for tile 0..1600, place N=6–9 trees at random x (min gap 120): each: - type: oak-ish (big round canopy) or tall; amber accent ~20%. - trunk: path from (x, baseY) up with slight curve to (x+curve, baseY-h*0.55), stroke width 8–14 tapering? SVG stroke can't taper; draw trunk as path polygon: `M x-6 y Q x-2 y-h*0.4 x+c-3 y-h*0.6 L x+c+3 y-h*0.6 Q x+4 y-h*0.3 x+6 y Z` hmm let me define helper drawTrunk(x,y,h,w): quadratic sway: top point (x+sway, y-h). Path: left edge from (x-w/2, y) Q((x-w/2 + swayL?), ...) — I'll do simple 2-line path with slight curve and rounded look via two Q curves; fill trunkColor. Add 1–2 branches: thin strokes from mid-trunk angled up into canopy, stroke width 3–5, trunk color darker. Branches visually connect trunk to canopy blobs ✓. - canopy: cluster of k=4–6 circles: main r = h*0.32; positions around (x+sway, y-h*0.72) offsets ±(r*0.8). Fill canopy color; then 1–2 highlight circles smaller offset toward upper-left (-r*0.35,-r*0.3) fill lighter (sun-kissed) opacity .8. Amber trees: canopy #d99a3f with highlight #eec27a; trunk darker. - base shadow: .sun-shadow group at (x, y+2): inner .stretch path tapered band base length ~ 150 (scaled per tree size): fill #55452c? Tree shadow color maybe slightly transparent dark green-brown #4c4426 op .25, blur 4. - y base: rnd(688, 724) (mid trees stand between horizon and path). Canopy heights: h total 260–420 → canopy tops ~ y-380 up to y≈300 (mid scene) ✓ canopy circles r 60–95. Make sure trees don't cover the walkers area too much — walkers at x 620–790; it's OK if a trunk passes behind them occasionally (scrolling) — actually nice depth. But avoid canopy too low near walkers? Canopies are high (y<350) fine. **Ground details** (scroll layer 50s): base ground handled by static rects? If base ground is static but details scroll — details (grass tufts, stones, flowers, mushrooms, path) scroll. Path band must scroll: path as long wavy band across 3200 tile: path shape: top edge y≈742 with gentle waves (period 1600!) — wavy with period 1600: use sine-ish with integer waves (e.g., 5 waves of 320px? period must be 1600: waves = k*1600/L... construct with Q segments each 160px alternating → period 1600 requires segments sum 1600 and pattern repeats: alternate up/down each 160 → after 1600 (10 segments) pattern repeats ✓ (10 even). Bottom edge straight y=800. So path band from yTop(x) wavy to 800? Path bottom: fade into grass: make band bottom edge also wavy? Simplest: band with straight bottom at y=806 and irregular edges covered by grass tufts sprinkled on edges. Or draw path as soft-edged: path stroke instead: draw centerline y=770 as wavy stroke width 56 color #d9bd8a opacity .95 + second wider stroke width 70 opacity .35 blur 6 under it → soft edges! Strokes with round joins, tile period 1600 ✓. Then edges get grass tufts overlapping → organic. Then scattered: grass tufts: helper tuft(x,y,s,color): 5–7 blades: strokes `M0 0 Q -2 -10 -6 -16` etc rotated spread; use path with stroke width 2.5 round; color varying greens/dry gold. Place ~50 tufts along y 700–880 random, denser near path edges (y 735–760 and 790–820). Stones: small rounded rects/ellipses #b0a37e with darker under-edge. Mushrooms: 3–4: stem cream + cap rust #b4552e with dots cream; heights 12–18. Flowers: tiny 5-petal dots cream/amber r2 on stems — sparse 8. Fallen leaves on ground: small amber ellipses rotated — 10. All in scroll layer. Also a fallen log? A small log on path side: rounded rect #8a6a44 with end ellipse rings — 1–2, nice. Place away from walkers' path center or behind (they'd walk "past" it). OK place at some x. **Top canopy** (in mid scroll layer or separate slow layer): dark leafy band across top: cluster of big circles along y=-20..70 r 60–110 fill #4f6b38 (darker than mid canopies for framing), with a few hanging clusters: small circle groups hanging at y 60–130 with tiny stems, some leaves dangling that sway (CSS rotate ±4° around stem top). Place on mid layer so it scrolls with trees (canopy overhead moves with mid ✓). Depth: this band darker → frames top ✓. Also maybe second lighter band behind (#6d8a4a) at y -30..40 for dimension. **Front grass/foreground** (scroll fastest 34s): tall grass silhouettes along bottom y 850–905, color #3c4d2a / #35452b dark; blades taller (h 40–90) denser; a few big fern-like sprigs (path with pinnae? simple: curved stem with 6 opposing short strokes). Some at bottom-left bigger cluster r. Occasional foreground flower stem with round bloom dark silhouette? Keep grasses + 2 ferns + 1 big leaf cluster corner. **Order & zIndex recap in SVG**: 1. sky rect (gradient warm: #f7e7bd top → #fbeecb? plus warm glow near horizon #f9d998?) — vertical gradient: top #f2e3b8? Let me: top: #f6ead0 (pale cream sky), middle #f7e3ae, near horizon (y 640) #fbd98e warm gold. Stops: 0 #f7edd3, .45 #f6e5b4, 1 #f6d78e. 2. sun glow group (behind far trees? glow should be behind canopy but in front of sky: order after sky, before far ✓). 3. far band. 4. mid trees (with their sun-shadows drawn... shadows must be ON ground above ground base: order: ground base first, then tree shadows, then trunks? Trees stand behind path; their shadows fall on ground behind path area (y ~ 690–740) — draw ground base (static), then mid trees' shadows, then mid trees (scroll), then path (scroll), then ground details, then walkers... wait tree trunks bases at y ~688–724 could overlap path top edge (path centerline 770 ±35 → top ~735). Trees at y base ≤ 724 stand just above path edge ✓ visually behind path ✓. But tree shadows drawn before path would be covered by path stroke where overlapping — shadows should lie ON path too. Reorder: ground base → path → tree shadows (over path) → trees? But then trunk bases draw over their shadows fine, and shadows lie over path ✓. However shadows belong to scrolling mid layer; path in another scroll layer with different speed — shadows separate from trees would desync... put path & ground details INSIDE mid scroll layer? Then path scrolls at tree speed; ground-detail layer separate faster speed for parallax of small items... If path scrolls slower than grass tufts on it, tufts slide over path oddly but that's normal parallax? Physically all ground objects move together. Two ground speeds would look wrong for objects on the same plane. So: single ground scroll layer containing path + stones + flowers + mushrooms + tufts at ground plane; foreground grass layer faster is a nearer plane ✓ consistent. Mid trees: are they on the ground plane behind path? Their bases y 688–724 — slightly higher on screen = farther ✓ so they're a farther plane → slower scroll ✓. Their shadows fall on ground behind/around path top edge — but if trees scroll at mid speed and shadows with them, shadows slide across path which scrolls at different speed — shadows sliding over scrolling path is physically fine (shadow of far tree falls over near ground? Real: a far tree's shadow falls on ground near the tree, i.e., behind path... mostly. If shadow extends onto path, path is nearer plane — mixed planes; it's stylized, fine). Simplify layering: - L-ground-base (static): gradient rects + some static large soft color patches. - L-mid (scroll 90s? I said trees slower... choose durations: far 150s, mid 95s, ground 60s, front 38s. Speeds: 10.7, 16.8, 26.7, 42 px/s — pleasant.) Wait earlier: far 120, mid 70... let me set: far 160s (10px/s), mid 100s (16px/s), ground 62s (25.8), front 36s (44px/s). ✓ - L-mid contains: top canopy band + trees + tree shadows (shadows first, then trunks+canopy). - L-ground (scroll 62s): path strokes + stones + mushrooms + flowers + tufts + leaves on ground + log. - walkers + their shadows (static screen position) — above ground ✓. - dapplesGround (over ground & walkers? Dapples over walkers = light spots on them ✓ but big dapples crossing characters look odd if above—actually dappled light DOES fall on them; low opacity screen blend is lovely ✓ put ground dapples above walkers, plus the 3 small char-dapples in same group but positioned over characters — merge: all dapples in one group drawn after walkers; large ground dapples at y 690–870 will overlap characters' lower parts with screen blend — fine, subtle). - front grass layer (above dapples? foreground grass nearest → above dapples ✓). - rays: rays are volumetric light in air — above everything except vignette? Rays in front of characters = atmospheric ✓ draw after front grass, before vignette. Rays opacity very low. - motes & leaves: above rays. - vignette + grain last. Wait tree canopy top band drawn in mid layer — but rays drawn later appear over canopy ✓ fine (light in air in front of far canopy ✓ actually rays in front of everything = "light shafts in the air between viewer and scene" ✓). **Boy/puppy in front of mid trees, behind foreground dapples/grass** ✓. Their feet y=762; path centerline 770 → they stand on path ✓. **Now CSS animations**: ```css @keyframes scrollX { to { transform: translateX(-1600px); } } .scroll-far { animation: scrollX 160s linear infinite; } ... ``` Each scroll layer group contains tile content drawn twice (0 & 1600). JS builds tiles once into a , then clone with transform translate(1600) ✓. Since SVG width 1600 user units but rendered scaled — translateX(-1600px) in CSS on SVG element: CSS px = user units when no viewBox scaling? CSS transforms on SVG elements use user units for px ✓ (transform CSS on SVG child uses the local coordinate system, px = user units). ✓. Boy keyframes: ```css @keyframes bob { 0%,100% { transform: translateY(0) } 25% { transform: translateY(-3.5px)} 55% { transform: translateY(-1px)} 75% {transform: translateY(-3.5px)} } ``` Hmm bob should peak at passing position (legs vertical) twice per cycle: two humps per stride: with stride T=1.3s: bob: 0%: -1 (contact), 25%: -3.5 (pass), 50%: -1, 75%: -3.5, 100%: -1. Use ease-in-out. Legs: legF: 0%: 20deg (forward contact), 50%: -18 (back contact), 100%: 20 — with easing that mimics swing (ease-in-out). But during stance the foot should stay planted-ish... rigid rotation causes arc — acceptable stylization. Slight knee lift illusion: add translateY? Skip; amplitude modest (±19°) with boot shapes reads fine in naive style. Actually improvement: animate legs with two keyframe pairs but add mid keyframes for knee bend? Keep simple: linear-ish ease. Also arms: armB swing 30±14; armF 30±5 with leash. Puppy legs 4: phases: frontF A, backB A, frontB B, backB?? diagonal: front-left with back-right. In side view: near-front with far-back sync. legs: fF (near front), fB (far front), bF (near back), bB (far back). Trot: fF & bB phase A; fB & bF phase B. Amplitude ±20°, dur 0.6s. Ear flop ±9° 0.6s offset. Tail wag 0.45s alternate ±16°. Pup bob 0.6s translateY -2 humps. Head bob for boy: slight rotate 1.5° + translateY 1? Head group with anim headBob 1.3s: translateY 0/-1.5 & rotate 0.8deg — subtle life. Also whole walkers group: none (camera handles). Sway of hanging leaves: .dangle { transform-origin: top; animation: sway 5.2s ease-in-out infinite alternate; } rotate -5→5? Wait alternate with keyframes from -4deg to 4deg ✓ different durations via style attr. Grass sway: front grass tufts: animation rotate ±2° origin bottom, durations 3–6s random, delays random — apply to a few groups (not all 60 tufts individually — group clusters: sway whole cluster groups of ~6 tufts). Fine. Motes: JS creates with CSS class .mote and inline animation-duration/delay + custom keyframes? Common keyframes float: translateY(-20px)↔(10px) + translateX wiggle + opacity. Use one keyframes with CSS vars? Simple: two keyframes variants .moteA/.moteB. **Numbers check for walkers position**: boy at x=620: with default sunX = 0 (mouse center) → shadow dir flips around center... default target mx: choose default sun slightly left: default mx = 0.36 → sunX = (0.36-0.5)*2*1.35 = -0.378 → shadow right, len factor 0.55+0.45*0.42=0.74 × base — decent. Good default: sun upper-left-ish ✓ matches rays default lean and canopy highlights baked upper-left ✓ coherent. sunX range ±1.35; glow x = 800 + sunX*300 → 395..1205; default 800-113=687 — upper-left of center ✓. **Char shadows JS update** — collect: ```js const stretchEls = [...document.querySelectorAll('.stretch')]; each has data: base length scale handled by path size; JS sets transform = `rotate(${a} ${0} ${0}) scale(${s} ${1})`. ``` For left flip: a = 180 + t. Path drawn pointing +x with taper; flipped OK. But CSS transform on SVG child overrides presentation attribute; set via style.transform for perf ✓. transform-box default: view-box — rotation origin at (0,0) of user space, NOT local! Important: CSS transforms on SVG elements use transform-origin relative to... by default `transform-box: view-box` and origin 0 0 of the *reference box* = view-box origin — that would rotate around scene corner! Must set `transform-box: fill-box; transform-origin: 0 0`? fill-box origin = bounding box top-left, not local (0,0). Hmm. The .stretch group's local origin (0,0) is at its translate position because parent has transform translate(x,y) — CSS transform on child composes after parent's transform in local coords, but transform-origin for CSS uses reference box... With transform-box: view-box, origin 0px 0px = viewBox origin — the rotation would pivot at scene (0,0) — wrong. Safest: set transforms via setAttribute('transform', ...) (SVG attribute) — attribute transforms use local coordinate origin ✓ no origin ambiguity. Slightly more GC but few elements (≈10 per frame) fine. Use attribute for JS-driven transforms; CSS animations for scroll layers use CSS translateX (translation has no origin issue ✓). CSS rotate/origin-dependent anims (legs, sway, tail): need transform-origin at joints — set `transform-box: fill-box; transform-origin: ...%`? fill-box = bbox of element; e.g., leg group bbox top ≈ hip? Leg extends from hip down: bbox top-center = hip point ✓ transform-origin: top center? For leg drawn from (0,-62) to (0,0): bbox top = -62, center x=0 → origin "50% 0%" = hip ✓. Arm similar: drawn downward from shoulder: origin top center-ish but arm angled... arm path from (0,0) to (14,52) slanted: bbox top-left area = shoulder at (0,0) → origin "0% 0%"?? bbox left = min x maybe negative from stroke. Hmm, stroke extends bbox? fill-box uses geometry bbox (fill geometry, ignores stroke) ✓. Arm: I'll draw arm group with contents translated so pivot at (0,0), geometry extends down/right: bbox minx = 0? hand circle at (14,52) r5 → minx = -? path curve may bow left slightly. I'll design arm path bowing only rightward: M0 0 Q 6 22 16 46; hand at (16,46). bbox: x 0..~21, y 0..51 → origin "0% 0%" = (0,0) = shoulder ✓. Leg: draw straight down with slight backward bow? bbox x: boot extends +x (toes forward ~+14) and heel -6: minx=-6 → origin x% ≈ (0-(-6))/width... messy. Alternative: wrap each animatable part so geometry starts exactly at pivot and design pivot at bbox known corner. OR use SMIL animateTransform? SMIL rotate supports explicit center: `` — SMIL is reliable (Chrome/Firefox/Safari support SMIL still ✓) and avoids origin issues entirely, with keyTimes/keySplines for easing. But SMIL sync with CSS bob… SMIL is fine standalone. Hmm mixing: scroll layers CSS, char parts SMIL, mouse-driven attributes JS. SMIL syntax for leg swing with easing: ```svg ...geometry... ``` ✓ This works and is clean. Bob: animateTransform translate values "0 0; 0 -3.5; 0 0; 0 -3.5; 0 0" keyTimes "0;.25;.5;.75;1" dur 1.3s ✓. Tail wag: rotate values "-14 ...;16 ...;-14" dur .45s around tail base ✓. Ear: rotate around ear top ✓. Head bob: translate ✓. Alternatively CSS with transform-box: fill-box works too, but SMIL is more precise for joints. I'll use SMIL for character articulation (it's well-supported; deprecated warnings exist but works everywhere incl. Safari). Risk: none practically. For hanging leaves sway & grass sway & dapples & motes & rays shimmer & falling leaves: CSS animations with transform-box: fill-box + transform-origin set appropriately. Grass sway rotate origin bottom center: fill-box origin "50% 100%" ✓. Dangle: origin "50% 0%" ✓. Dapple translate only — no origin needed ✓. Rays: CSS translate/opacity only; rotation via JS attribute on parent ✓. Motes: translate only ✓. Falling leaves: outer translateY (no origin), inner rotate origin center (fill-box 50% 50%) ✓. Shadow stretch: JS setAttribute transform on .stretch groups (attribute rotate/scale around local 0,0 which is anchor ✓). Parent shadow group positioned with attribute translate ✓. Right header: «L'HEURE DORÉE» letterspaced small. Caption bottom: «Ils marchaient sans un bruit sous les grands arbres dorés, et leurs longues ombres les suivaient, pas à pas, comme deux petites bêtes dociles.» Page marker bottom-right: «— 12 —». Hint bottom-left: «Glissez la lumière : le soleil suit votre main.» in italic tiny. Font pairing: Fraunces for everything (it has lovely italics) ✓ distinctive, storybook-appropriate. **Edge cases**: - Small screens/mobile: plate scales; SVG slice crops sides — walkers near left-center x=620/1600 = 0.39 — with slice on portrait screens, horizontal crop keeps center → walkers at 0.39 might be cropped off left! preserveAspectRatio xMidYMid slice: on tall narrow screens, width cropped → visible x range centered 800 ± (0.5*heightRatio*1600)... For phone portrait (e.g., 390×700 plate): scale = max(390/1600, 700/900)=0.777 → scaledW=1244 → visible width 390 → x visible ≈ 800±251 → 549..1051: boy at 620 visible ✓ barely (left edge 549 < 620 ✓, shadow extends right ✓). Landscape default fine. To be safer, use preserveAspectRatio="xMidYMax slice"? Aligning bottom keeps ground visible, crops sky instead — better for story (characters at bottom half). With xMidYMax on 390×700: scale 0.777, visible y from 900-700/0.777=900-901≈0... same. For ultra-wide (21:9): scale = w/1600; height cropped: visible y = centered? xMidYMid → vertical center crop: ground at bottom might get cropped! With plate ~ 1600×620: scale=1, visible y 140..760 — characters feet at 762 cropped barely; ground 645–900 mostly visible but bottom grass cut. Use xMidYMax slice: visible y = 280..900 → sky cropped instead — keeps ground + characters ✓ top canopy partially cropped (canopy band y<90 hidden on ultra-wide — acceptable, or reduce reliance on top band). Hmm but then on standard 16:9 it's identical to full. I'll use xMidYMax slice ✓ (bottom-anchored: ground always visible; sky/canopy crop on extreme ratios — fine). Also add min-height on scene-wrap so caption never squeezes scene to death; and on short screens, fine. - Performance: many blurred elements: tree shadows (say 8 trees ×2 tiles = 16 blurred paths), dapples ~12, rays 3, glow 1. Filters on 30 elements — GPU ok generally. Blur filter with default filter units might clip? Set filter region x="-50%" y="-50%" width="200%" height="200%" to avoid clipping ✓. - Reduced motion: media query: * { animation: none !important } and JS: if matchMedia reduced → skip rAF loop after initial static application; SMIL still runs — SMIL not affected by prefers-reduced-motion automatically; could call svg.pauseAnimations() ✓ nice touch. **Let me now write out all the geometry concretely.** Scene constants: W=1600 H=900.
