Can you plz explain the so-called crisis of marxism, that kinda happened after the Second international, and that apparently aggravated post-WWI european politics helping to precipitate the fascist regimes (we cannot explain fascism without Marx and Engels)? Generally, is commonly said Hegel is the main source of both communism and fascism, due to his monolithic work, historic focus and ambiguity. But a read of Marx kinda demostrates his own ambiguity when red by the lens of non democratic sectors in the early 20th century. The mention of the marxist concept of "national proletariat" by italian agitators before Mussolini's rise, as well as Mussolini's own socialist youth is generally pointed as hints of this reinterpretation. Also, Engels' rethoric of socialdarwinism and non constructive agitation against burgouise owners is often mentioned as precursors to fascism's rise, by authors like Popper. Im able to accept that not every marxist stepping stone explains fascism, but im convinced you cannot explain fascism in the 20th century without marxist/engelian intelectual baggage and rethoric, let alone attitudes that were adopted later and textually reinterpreted. I always think in Schmitt's rather friendly reference to "left wing chauvinism" as a desirable attitude. As always, constructive corrections are welcome. Plz be detailed and extensive in you response
