Prompt
Act as an exam-software developer and a Bihar PSC-level question setter. Build a complete, interactive Computer Based Test (CBT) mock exam for the BTSC Food Safety Officer exam (Advt. 29/2026) as ONE self-contained HTML file (HTML, CSS, JavaScript only, no external libraries). If you can publish it as an interactive artifact, do that. It must look and behave like a real exam-centre CBT screen. 1. PATTERN (follow exactly) - 100 MCQs, 100 marks, 2 hours (120:00 countdown), 4 options (A-D), one correct answer. - +1 for correct, -0.25 for wrong, 0 for unanswered. - Section A: General Studies and Mental Ability, 25 questions. - Section B: Chemistry and Food Nutrition, 75 questions = B1 Food Chemistry 25, B2 Food Microbiology 25, B3 Food Processing Technology 25. 2. SYLLABUS (official BTSC; do not go outside it) - Section A: current affairs (international, national, regional); general science and everyday applications, science and technology, IT; modern Indian socio-economic and political history; Indian polity and governance, e-governance; economic development since independence; physical geography of India and Bihar; disaster management (remote sensing, GIS); sustainable development and environment; logical reasoning, analytical ability, data interpretation; data analysis (tabulation, mean, median, mode, variance, coefficient of variation). Suggested split of the 25: current affairs 4, Bihar 5, polity 3, modern history 3, science and IT 3, economy 2, environment and disaster 2, reasoning, DI and statistics 3. - B1 Food Chemistry: carbohydrates (mono-, di-, oligo-, polysaccharides, starch, cellulose, pectic substances, dietary fibre); proteins; lipids (rancidity, polymerisation, polymorphism); pigments (carotenoids, chlorophylls, anthocyanins, tannins, myoglobin); flavours (terpenes, esters, ketones, quinones); enzymes; enzymatic and non-enzymatic browning. - B2 Food Microbiology: bacteria, yeast, mould (morphology, detection); spores vs vegetative cells; intrinsic and extrinsic growth factors; growth and death kinetics; serial dilution; spoilage (milk, meat); toxins of Staphylococcus, Clostridium, Aspergillus; Salmonella, Bacillus, Listeria, E. coli, Shigella, Campylobacter; natural hazards (seafood toxins, biogenic amines, alkaloids, phenolics, protease inhibitors, phytates); biological, chemical, physical hazards; general preservation methods. - B3 Food Processing Technology: rice milling, parboiling, barley pearling, malting, brewing, corn and wheat milling; pulses processing; oilseed extraction and refining; fruits and vegetables (IQF, thawing); tea, coffee, cocoa; spices (oleoresin, essential oil); meat, fish, poultry (ante- and post-mortem inspection, curing, smoking, freezing, dehydration); milk processing (separation, clarification, pasteurisation, standardisation, homogenisation, sterilisation, UHT); unit operations (grading, sorting, peeling, size reduction); product development, sensory and objective evaluation. 3. QUESTION QUALITY - State-PSC level: about 40% easy, 40% medium, 20% hard. Mix facts, concepts, application, "which is NOT correct", match-the-following, statement-based and a few numerical questions. - Tag every question with section, topic and difficulty. Give the correct answer and a 1 to 2 line explanation. - Facts must be accurate. If unsure, replace the question. For current affairs, use web search for the last 6 months and use only well-confirmed facts; if you cannot search, use static GK instead. - No duplicate questions. Spread correct answers evenly across A, B, C, D. Never show answers during the test. 4. INTERFACE (real CBT style) - Start page: general instructions (marking scheme, timer, palette colours), candidate name field, "I have read the instructions" checkbox, Start button. Note that no calculator is allowed. - Top bar: exam name, candidate name, large countdown timer (turns red in the last 10 minutes, auto-submits at 00:00), section tabs showing answered counts. - Question panel: question number, text, four radio options, buttons Save and Next, Mark for Review and Next, Clear Response, Previous. - Right-hand palette: numbered grid with 5 states (Not Visited grey, Not Answered red, Answered green, Marked for Review purple, Answered and Marked for Review purple with a green dot), a legend with live counts, and click-to-jump. Answered-and-marked questions count as answered. - Submit button opens a confirmation showing answered, not answered, marked and not visited counts per section. No pause. Warn on page refresh. Work on phone and laptop. 5. RESULT SCREEN - Net score out of 100, correct, wrong, unattempted, marks lost to negative marking and to unattempted questions (shown separately), accuracy %, attempt rate, time used. - Breakdown by section and by topic with accuracy; list my weakest 3 topics with a one-line fix each; compare with my targets (85 safe, 90 stretch). - Full review with filters (all, correct, wrong, unattempted, marked): my answer, correct answer, explanation, topic, difficulty. - A "Download error log" button that saves wrong and unattempted questions with explanations as a text file. - Save a result summary to localStorage inside try/catch to show mock history; carry on if storage is blocked. 6. BUILD PROCESS - First write the question bank as JSON in four parts of 25 questions and check every answer key. Then build the HTML with the bank embedded. If length limits you, do it in stages and wait for me to say "continue". - Before delivering, self-check: counts (25/25/25/25), no duplicates, answer-key spread, timer logic, negative-marking maths, palette states. SETTINGS FOR THIS MOCK (edit before sending) - Mock number: 1 (use a completely new question set each time) - Mode: Full 100-question mock (or Paper 1 only / Paper 2 only / one topic, same interface, proportional marks) - Language: English (or English + Hindi toggle) - Difficulty: real-exam level (or harder than real) - Extra focus topics: none
