**Developing Time Zone Comparator** I'm currently focused on building an interactive time slider that will allow for direct comparisons between IST, UTC, and various US time zones. The core functionality of displaying and adjusting these time differences in real-time is taking shape. **Refining Time Zone Selection** I'm now considering how best to represent US time zones, aiming for clarity whether by offering specific examples like EST/PST or a broader selection. My aim is a user-friendly, visually appealing global time comparison tool. **Visualizing Time Differences** I'm now focusing on incorporating clear visual cues like day/night and working hour indicators. I'm also refining the interactive elements, including a "Now" button and smooth scrubbing capabilities across the synchronized timeline grids. **Optimizing Time Slider Granularity** I'm now focusing on the slider's fine-tuning, exploring 15 or 30-minute increments with precise minute scrubbing. The integration of a meeting overlap score and visual clarity through typography and icons are also key priorities. **Implementing Time Slider Mechanics** I'm now focusing on the core mechanics of the time slider, establishing a robust time reference model. This involves a selected date and minutes, with plans for both hourly blocks and fine 15-minute scrubbing, all synced across time zones. **Calculating Meeting Overlap** I'm now focusing on the precise calculation and display of meeting overlap. This involves defining business hours for each time zone and generating a score that reflects ideal collaboration windows based on the selected time. **Aligning Time Grids** I'm now focusing on how to visually represent the synchronized timeline grids. The approach is to align column $i$ across all displayed time zones to represent the same instant in time, allowing for direct visual comparison of simultaneous events. **Aligning Time Blocks** I'm now focusing on how to represent time blocks across different zones, specifically addressing the 30-minute offset for time zones like IST. My aim is to ensure seamless visual alignment of 24-hour blocks and allow for flexible reference points. **Designing App Layout** I'm now focusing on the overall visual structure, including a header with a date picker and a "Jump to Now" button. I'm also designing the main content area to display individual time zone cards and a master scrub controller with time stepping controls and a meeting overlap indicator. **Structuring Time Zone Displays** I'm now focusing on the visual arrangement of individual time zone information. My current plan is to present each zone as a distinct card, incorporating details like flags, UTC offsets, formatted times, date deltas, and status indicators for working hours or sleep. A 24-hour mini-heatmap on each card will also visually depict the time. **Implementing Calendar Integration** I'm now focused on enabling users to directly add selected meeting times to their Google Calendar. This involves generating the correct URL format with pre-filled meeting details for seamless scheduling. **Formatting Time Values** I am now focusing on the precise formatting of time values for each timezone using `Intl.DateTimeFormat`. This includes creating formatters for 12-hour, 24-hour, date, hour, minute, and timezone names to ensure consistent and clear displays. **Formatting Time Values** I am now focused on the precise formatting of time values for each timezone using `Intl.DateTimeFormat`. This includes creating formatters for 12-hour, 24-hour, date, hour, minute, and timezone names to ensure consistent and clear displays. I'm also exploring how to derive relative UTC offsets. **Calculating Time Offsets** I'm now ensuring accurate UTC offset calculations, verifying the robustness of my `diffMinutes` approach against browser variations and exploring the utility of `longOffset` for display. This is crucial for precise time zone representation. **Suggesting Optimal Meeting Times** I'm now focused on suggesting the best meeting windows by analyzing working hours across selected time zones. I'm also developing quick-click buttons to instantly set the slider to these optimal overlaps, enhancing usability. **Designing Time Zone Interaction** I'm now focusing on an interactive hourly ribbon and synchronized timelines for intuitive user control. Clicking any hour block across any zone will instantly update the master time, ensuring seamless cross-zone adjustments for a truly intuitive experience. **Selecting Time Zones** I'm now focusing on streamlining the user experience by pre-selecting IST, UTC, US Eastern, and US Pacific time zones by default. I'll include checkboxes for US Central and US Mountain to manage clutter while ensuring full accessibility. **Implementing Time Adjustments** I'm now focusing on the precise adjustments to the master time based on user interactions, ensuring daylight saving and date rollovers are handled accurately. I'm also refining the logic for setting time when clicking on hour blocks within specific time zones for seamless updates. **Adjusting Time Zone Differentials** I'm refining the core time adjustment logic, employing a minute-based offset calculation that dynamically handles time zone differences, even across daylight saving transitions. This ensures accurate synchronization when manipulating the slider or interacting with time blocks. I'm also planning quick-preset buttons for common overlap scenarios. **Refining Time Zone Logic** I'm now focusing on the intricate details of time zone differentials, ensuring perfect handling of IST's 30-minute offset and verifying my minute-based offset calculations against potential browser quirks. I'm also considering how to leverage `longOffset` for clearer display and implementing quick-click buttons for optimal meeting windows. **Integrating Calendar Functionality** I'm now integrating the ability to add events to Google Calendar, developing the necessary URL generation logic. This will allow users to directly schedule meetings based on the visualized time overlaps, providing a highly practical feature for collaboration. **Testing Time Zone Transitions** I am now working through complex edge cases, particularly the 30-minute offset inherent in the IST time zone. This ensures that my time calculations and display remain accurate and seamless, even with these specific differentials. **Adding Calendar Integration** I'm now implementing the functionality to add events to Google Calendar. This involves generating the correct URL with pre-filled meeting details, making scheduling from the app a breeze. **Handling IST Offset** I'm now specifically testing and ensuring the correct handling of IST's 30-minute offset. This is crucial for accurate display and calculations when comparing it with other time zones. **Refining Display Elements** I'm now focusing on enhancing the visual presentation of time, ensuring accurate display of minutes (e.g., 7:30 PM IST) and using hour pills with progress indicators for active times. I'm also working on highlighting the current hour and displaying date deltas clearly, along with responsive mobile styling. ```html Global Timezone Slider (IST • UTC • US)
